Our Mission & Ethos

Our Mission

To be the first port of call for pastoral and practical support of all those in need in the farming community, with a particular focus on farmers and farming families.

Our Ethos

FCN is a Christian charity that was founded on Christian values. Our work in the farming community is underpinned by a strong Christian ethos. This ethos is what motivates many of our volunteers when helping to serve the farming community. They use the example of the risen Christ walking with disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35). FCN volunteers will ‘walk with’ and support farming people as they seek to resolve their problems, whatever they may be.

We are non-evangelical and non-judgemental in our work. Our volunteers support anyone who seeks help, regardless of their background, occupation or beliefs. We also welcome anyone who is passionate about supporting Britain’s farming community to become a volunteer.

You do not need to be a committed Christian to become a volunteer. All we ask is that you are sympathetic to the charity’s Christian values.
