Royal Welsh Show highlights 2024

This year we were delighted to attend the Royal Welsh Show from Monday 22nd July to Thursday 25th July.

Thank you to everyone who joined FCN for our reception event with Macmillan Cancer Support on the first day of the Show. Incredible support from the industry, including the National Farmers’ Union (Cymru) and NFU Mutual, who kindly hosted us in their Marquee.

We are working in partnership with Macmillan to help to address cancer inequalities in farming and rural communities across the UK. This includes raising awareness of cancer risks, signs and symptoms, encouraging early detection, and improving knowledge and understanding of the support Macmillan can provide people affected by cancer.

Other highlights this year included:

  • Working alongside our excellent and hard-working volunteers and staff team, who have given up their time to represent FCN during this busy 4-day Show

  • Having a one-on-one conversation with Minister for Mental Health and Early Years Sarah Murphy about our work supporting farmers’ health, wellbeing and resilience through change through our core services and our FarmWell / FarmWell Wales website and activity

  • Speaking with David Holdsworth, CEO of the Charity Commission, and team – who previously received training from FCN in his role with the Animal and Plant Health Agency.

  • Catching up with partner organisations such as Platts Agriculture Limited, who are very supportive of our work.

  • Chatting to Chelsea from Farmers Weekly about the Britain’s Fittest Farming competition, for which FCN is a charity partner.

Thank you to everyone who has made this another excellent Show this year!
