Support the work of FCN

With British farming facing significant changes and deep uncertainty in the coming years, FCN is busily preparing for the challenges that lie ahead. We are anticipating a significant increase in the workload of our 400+ volunteers throughout England and Wales. But we need your help to continue supporting the farming community.

FCN relies solely on donations and grants in order to continue supporting the farming community. It costs approximately £1,500 a day to run FCN, with the majority of FCN’s income spent on running the national helpline and covering volunteers’ travel expenses.

We are grateful to all who raise funds or donate to us - and there are many ways that you can do this...

FCN can be supported by:

Individuals

We are particularly grateful to donors who are able to make a commitment to a regular amount through a standing order. Please contact FCN to request a standing order form by post or click HERE to download one.

For one off donations it really helps if you are a taxpayer and able to make a Gift Aid declaration on the amount donated. Please download and print the declaration form HERE or contact FCN and we will send you the appropriate form.

If you are able to leave a legacy to FCN in your Will, please contact FCN and we can send you a Legacy Pack.

Corporate

If you represent a corporate body or organisation, why not sponsor an event or a particular element of our expenditure? Perhaps you could help us with the production of literature or the costs of running the telephone Helpline. Alternatively, do you have a suitable location where we could hold one of our training sessions? Why not persuade your employees to get involved in a fundraising event – it will be good fun and be welcome support for FCN.

If your business or organisation would like to support FCN either in kind or by donating, please contact us to discuss options available and how FCN can support you in your endeavours. Here are some ideas:

  • One-off payment: A gift from your charity committee will be most welcome. Cheques should be made payable to "FCN" or "The Farming Community Network" and sent to:

           The Farming Community Network
           Manor Farm
           Guilsborough Road
           West Haddon
           Northamptonshire
           NN6 7AQ

  • Staff Fund Raising: Do your staff enjoy the challenge of a fundraising event? Talk to us about what you could do – and how you might arrange about match-funding
  • Sponsoring an event: FCN holds lots of events throughout the year up and down the country, some more formal than others. Frequently these are organised by our volunteers or supporters, they may be more administrative in nature, such as an annual conference, or they may be farm discussion groups. We always welcome offers of event sponsorship so please contact us at the national office. Click here for a copy of our sponsorship form.
  • Sponsoring in kind: Could you pay for production and printing of leaflets, or sponsor the cost of our telephone Helpline for a year?

There are many ways your business could help - we would be delighted to hear from you.

Church & Faith Groups

Are you a church or a faith group wanting to support FCN? Many churches do already donate generously, supporting FCN through their services and other events such as music concerts, carol services. There are many links with farming that provide a suitable platform such as  Harvest, Lammas, Rogation and  Plough Sunday.

If you are considering raising funds for FCN, please let us know and we will be delighted to help and support your efforts. At appropriate times of the year, you will find seasonal materials to download which may help with service preparations in the Resources section of the website.
